Advent Prayer Guide

Spend some time getting yourself ready for Christmas and pray that God will do amazing things in the coming days.
December 15, 2022

Christmas is quickly approaching, and it seems like there is so much to do. However, this time shouldn’t be about hurry and get! It should be about sit and reflect. The psalmist tells us what God says. “Be still and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10). Over the next few days, as you prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus, find a quiet place and know that He is God. Spend some time getting yourself ready for Christmas and pray that God will do amazing things in the coming days.

Advent Prayer Guide

Keep Christmas simple – focus on Jesus and not get distracted by the cares of the world (Matthew 6:33; 13:22-23; Hebrews 12:1-2)

Remember, we need a Savior, and that is why Jesus came (Luke 19:10). Pray against becoming too materialistic (Matthew 6:19-21)

Display joy during the month – we should rejoice over Jesus (Philippians 4:4)

To have peace – God gives it to those with whom He is pleased, those who believe His Word (Isaiah 26:3; Luke 2:14)

For those who have had a family member die this year (2 Corinthians 1:3-4), For those who are struggling with purpose in life and questions about eternal life (John 17:3), For those who are lonely – to be invited in (Matthew 25:35)

To know Jesus as Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6-7)

To be a giver, not a getter (Acts 20:35)

God to meet the needs of those struggling (John 15:12-13; Philippians 4:19) To know that Jesus offers hope (Romans 15:13)

To do good and share the Gospel (Matthew 28:19-20; Titus 3:14)

To be humble (1 Peter 5:5-6)
