During the months of June, July, and August we will be looking at thirteen different psalms during Bible study.  The Book of Psalms, which means “hymns of praise”, uses music, prayers, and poetry to give us insight into the greatness of God.  The one hundred fifty psalms are broken down into five books: book 1 (1-41 with 1-2 as an introduction), book 2 (42-72), book 3 (73-89), book 4 (90-106), book 5 (107-150 with 146-150 as a conclusion).  They are written by various authors experiencing a wide range of emotions and situations in life.  The Psalms “focus on God and humanity and how those two are in dialogue.” (Explore the Bible pg. 10)
