Over the next few days we will read through the books of 1, 2, and 3 John.  John, in his old age, writes these letters to help the church battle heresies that threatened the fundamentals of the Christian faith.   This video from the Bible Project will help you better understand these books.  May we know the truth and allow it to set us free.
