During the months of July and August, for the Rocky Creek Bible Reading Plan (June – August 2019) we will spend a lot of time in the books of Kings and Chronicles.  These two books give us insights into the history of the nation of Israel.  We will learn about the lives of David and Solomon.  After the kingdom splits into Israel (north) and Judah (south) many new leaders arise, and we will learn about whether they follow God, rid the land of idolatry, and keep the covenant.  As we study these books, ask God to allow you to learn lessons from the lives of others.  Seek to know God better and avoid making the same mistakes and avoid committing the same sins that some of these leaders did.  Follow the examples of the good kings, but flee from the examples of the bad kings.

Here’s a couple of videos from the Bible Project that will help you understand the books of 1-2 Kings and  1-2 Chronicles better.
