March 17, 2020

As we navigate through these times of a world working through the COVID-19 crisis, we want you to know something very important:

You are not alone.

While our world is changing, our God is the same. Church may look different in the coming days, but, make no mistake, we will still be the church.

Here are our plans for the remainder of March. All activities on the church campus have been canceled.

While we had a plan to have multiple worship gatherings of 100s this coming Sunday according to Governor McMaster’s stipulations from Sunday, President Trump’s press conference on Monday changed those plans. He has requested that groups of 10 or more not gather for the remainder of March.

In honoring our governing authorities, here is our plan for the remainder of the month.

Worship

Join us for online worship this Sunday.

To honor our governing authorities (Rom. 13:1), we will not gather physically through the month of March. We will worship together by providing a livestream worship experience.

We will have time to sing and pray. Pastor Travis and Pastor Ernesto will preach from Philippians.

Take a picture of your family worshiping and upload it to social media with #RCtogether.

Groups

Don’t become disconnected.

Your Gospel Group leader will be reaching out to you about your weekly gathering. We want to honor the President’s request of no groups more than 10. You can gather in-person if your group meets that specification and desires to meet together. It must meet in your home rather than on the church campus.

Your group can also meet on a video-conference through the Zoom app. Your Gospel Group leader will be trained to use this tool. Schedule a time to gather together for Bible study, prayer, and some needed digital-fellowship during these unprecedented times.

This method includes all ages of Gospel Groups. We are also going to provide families with their children’s group content so they can be the teachers and the kids not miss out on these wonderful resources.

If you haven’t downloaded the Church Center app, this tool will help you connect with those in your group.

Give

Thank you for giving generously.

Continue your generosity to Kingdom work as we try to resource you and meet needs within our church family. While we don’t know how long our culture will walk through these changes, we want to be able to meet missional commitments, ministry demands, and benevolent needs.

You can give online, through text, or through the mail.

Needs Now

If you have a need, let us know.

We know these times have created some legitimate needs among many of our families. If you need help, let us know, and we will find a way to help.

You might not have a need, but you could meet one. If you are willing to come alongside our membership and help another, please let us know that as well.

We have created a Needs Now signup form. If you need help or can help, please fill this out, and we will be the hands and feet of Christ together.

Resources

Don’t miss these discipleship opportunities.

At least for the next few weeks, you are going to have some extra time on your hands. We don’t want you to go stir-crazy, so we are going to provide daily resources to grow in your faith, disciple your family, and minister to those around you.

Keep checking back as we provide helpful resources for discipleship during these times.

Going Forward

These are unprecedented times, but we serve a faithful God.

As the leadership of Rocky Creek prayed through our decisions, we sought to obey what we knew to be God’s will.

Without any hesitation, we know from God’s Word that he is calling us to: 1) glorify Jesus (1 Pet. 4:11), 2) bear one another’s burdens (Gal. 6:2), 3) be salt and light in this community (Matt. 5:14-16), and 4) honor governing authorities (Rom. 13:1).

We will make it through these times, and we will make it together.
