Today, we are excited to introduce Alex Gore, who has been named as Rocky Creek’s next Student Pastor.

About Alex

Alex and his wife, Chaffee are proud parents of two young boys, Max (2). and Benji (1). Alex graduated from North Greenville University where he earned his degree in Student Ministry. Currently, he is pursuing a Master’s of Divinity in Christian Ministry. For the past several years, Alex has served as the Preteen Pastor at Church at the Mill, overseeing the ministry for 4th and 5th graders.

Prior to serving at Church at the Mill, Alex served as a resident with Grace Church’s student ministry in 2020 and also served as an intern at Rocky Creek in 2018.

During his time at Rocky Creek, he worked under the leadership of Marty Miller and Joy Emery. It was during that time that Alex developed a deep love for RC, witnessing firsthand the church’s commitment to family ministry and discipleship.

Alex is eager to work alongside our staff to create a student ministry that is bold in its approach to discipleship-making—one that is intentional and practical.

Quotes from the Student Pastor Search Team

  • Melanie Brocato: Alex is a wonderful blend of youthfulness and maturity. He is very engaging and listens well. I feel sure he will inspire our youth to dig into God's Word and live boldly in relationship with Christ. He desires to see not only our youth growing in the Lord but also their parents and siblings together as a family. As a testament, Alex is living out this mission with his own young family.
  • Chad King: Alex stood out both from his resume and the opportunity to hear him preach and upon careful discussion/interview. He has a clear heart for the gospel, a passion for youth and family discipleship, and a great leadership quality that parents and students alike will admire. After our time as a team in discussion with Alex and his interest in this role, it became increasingly clear that God has placed this man in this role for such a time as this.
  • Jan Holland: Our team carefully poured through resumes for the Student Pastor position. Alex's resume showed exactly what we are looking for in a Student Pastor. During his interview, the Lord confirmed that he is the right fit for Rocky Creek. His love for the Lord, his family, and family ministry is evident.
  • Jonathan McWhite: After hearing Alex’s heart through sermons and in-depth conversations, our team was confident that God had uniquely prepared him for this time and opportunity at Rocky Creek. We are so excited to welcome Alex’s family into our church family, and we cannot wait to see what God has prepared for our students and our church as a whole.
  • Travis Agnew: When the team made a list of essentials for our next Student Pastor, we were confident and united that Alex met and exceeded our prayerful expectations. His heart is passionately devoted to leading a student ministry that focuses on family ministry and raises the bar for the teenagers of our church and within the community.

Alex's first day with us will be on Sunday, October 27.
