Rocky Creek Gave Over and Beyond

In order to keep the quality what we believed it should be in phases 1 & 3 of renovations, and to collect an initial commitment to phase 4, we asked the church body to pray about giving a onetime Over and Beyond Offering on Sunday, Sept. 30th.  For those in attendance on Sunday, you already heard the exciting news, but we wanted to make sure all members were aware of what God did through our church this past week.

In just 1 day, Rocky Creek gave 141% of what we prayed to receive for the Over and Beyond offering.

Did you catch that?  Do you see what God has done?

  • 141% – The number we prayed for and shared with the church body was a significant amount to raise – especially in one week.  The church not only met the goal but exceeded it so that we can finish phases 1-3 and start the process for phase 4 with zero debt.
  • 1 Sunday – This wasn’t a campaign or a mini-campaign.  This wasn’t an end-year gift.  This was God’s people showing up and giving on one Sunday.  We aren’t even including the gifts in the total that have been given in weeks leading up to that day or other gifts that have been indicated to come in the near future.
  • Over and Beyond – This wasn’t in place of or in addition to our normal offering – we prayed and shared together, and God showed up!
  • Budget Requirements – This 141% was in addition to meeting our weekly budget requirements!  Even with an increased budget from last year, we are even in a better percentage place than this time last year.  Consider how incredible that is since our giving totals for the budget do not include the Over and Beyond amount from Sunday or a significant amount given to the renovation plan by our church since January.

Why should we be surprised?  God is working in the life of this church!  I pray you see what He is doing and stay amazed.  Let’s keep moving forward!  Let’s not slow down praying, worshiping, encouraging, giving, sharing, discipling, inviting, growing, and going!

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen [Eph. 3:20-21].
