- It is wise to try to gain financial security, but it is futile to trust in it.
- A rich man’s wealth is his strong city, and like a high wall in his imagination (Prov. 18:11).
- Whoever trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous will flourish like a green leaf (Prov. 11:28).
- God weighs the value of our work based upon its moral integrity.
- The wage of the righteous leads to life, the gain of the wicked to sin (Prov. 10:16).
- The wicked earns deceptive wages, but one who sows righteousness gets a sure reward (Prov. 11:18).
- It is a noble thing to bless your family financially after your death.
- A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, but the sinner’s wealth is laid up for the righteous (Prov. 13:22).
- Just because you love someone doesn’t mean he or she can be trusted with an inheritance.
- An inheritance gained hastily in the beginning will not be blessed in the end (Prov. 20:21).
- A servant who deals wisely will rule over a son who acts shamefully and will share the inheritance as one of the brothers (Prov. 17:2).
- Wise people will be aware of their current finances and their future plans.
- Know well the condition of your flocks, and give attention to your herds, for riches do not last forever; and does a crown endure to all generations (Prov. 27:23-24)?
- Your financial security has nothing to do with your eternal standing.
- Riches do not profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death (Prov. 11:4).
- The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe. A rich man’s wealth is his strong city, and like a high wall in his imagination (Prov. 18:10-11).
How prepared are you for your final day?
- From a financial perspective, prepare so that you are not a burden but a blessing to others.
- From a faith perspective, your greatest security must come from the riches of heaven and not the trinkets of earth.
