Scripture
Exodus 13:1–16

What Happened to Them

  • God’s people could never forget the day that He brought them out (13:1-4).
  • God doesn’t leave any of His promises unfulfilled (13:5-7).
  • A family’s rhythms should regularly remind them of their redemptive testimonies (13:8-10, 14-16).
  • God redeemed what was unclean and made them useful for His purposes (13:11-13).

What Can Happen for You

  • Jesus is the firstborn son of God (Col. 1:15), consecrated for our redemption (Luke 2:22-24).
  • All people are enslaved to sin (John 8:34; Rom. 6:6) and unable to free themselves on their own.
  • God defeated our devilish ruler (Eph. 2:2; Col. 2:15) by the sacrifice of His Son (1 John 3:8).
  • By trusting in Jesus as our substitute, we are saved (John 3:16; Rom. 5:8).
  • Through baptism, we declare publicly that we who once were as good as dead are very much alive (Rom. 6:4).
  • We now journey toward the Promised Land (James 1:12) as redeemed people learning how to follow God’s instructions (1 John 5:3).
  • Let today be the day you remember how Jesus brought you out.
