• The Son has cleansed us to reunite us with God and others (1:2; cf. Lev. 14:6-7).
• God is worthy of our praise since He provides an actively increasing hope (1:3).
• We endure the frailty of life on earth since heaven is impervious to decay, depravity, and dimness (1:4).
• Nothing that happens in this life can keep us from what God has promised us (1:5).
