Jesus Can Handle Both the Urgent and the Inconvenient

As Jesus journeyed to help a life and death situation, He was interrupted by a smaller problem and yet was able to address both of them. Regardless of the size of our circumstances, Jesus is willing and able to come to our aid.

Scripture
Mark 5:21-43

The Urgent (Mark 5:21-24)

  • Jesus’ reputation was growing so much that even some of his opponents sought Him in desperation.
  • Devastating crises are often needed for us to submit ourselves before Jesus.
  • Jesus is eager to respond to humble pleas for help.

The Inconvenient (Mark 5:25-34)

  • Even when our situation isn’t as dire as another’s, years of suffering can make it feel that way.
  • The proper direction of your faith is more important at first than the full development of it.
  • If your view of God is not of a caring Father who shows deep concern for your needs, you have mistaken His identity.

The Undeterred (Mark 5:35-43)

  • God has never been late.
  • Jesus will not be deterred by anyone’s status, gender, race, or social standing.
  • Jesus is able to conquer demons (5:1-20), disease (5:21-34), and even death (5:35-43).
  • Jesus is available to save men (5:1-20), women (5:21-34), and even children (5:35-43).
  • Our only hope to be clean before God is because Jesus takes our uncleanness upon Himself.
  • Regardless of how severe your situation is, Jesus is willing and able to handle both the urgent and inconvenient.
What do you humbly need to bring before Jesus today?
